August ICLW

Welcome to August’s ICLW. I hope you enjoy this week, find some new blogs to follow and reconnect with old friends. I truly enjoy ICLW and look forward to it each month! I hope to see you around.

Fall has arrived here in Finland. I hope your summer has been good and warm to you (unless you are in the southern hemisphere, I hope your winter wasn’t too cold). The sun is still warm when it isn’t rainy, but you can definitely feel the nip and chill to the air, especially in the mornings and at night. The trees haven’t started turning yet, but I’m sure they will start changing soon. Even though I love summer, I also love the colors of fall.

A tiny bit about me:
I’m 35 and Mr Siili (DH) will be 37 on Tuesday. We’ve been TTC for 3 years, as of this month. AF arrived today in full force, making this the start of cycle #39. We’ve been on break this summer from treatments and I know this cycle is completely out as I’ll be out of the country during O, but cycle #40 will hopefully be an FET cycle.
If you want to read more about who I am and my TTC journey so far, you can click the tabs above.

And just because I like to share a bit of fun stuff for my intro ICLW post, here are some random questions that I found on a friend’s blog:

What is bothering you right now?
My neck! I slipped and fell a week ago, went to the chiropractor on Friday and my neck spasmed this evening. It hurts like crazy! Thankfully I have another chiro appointment on Wednesday!

Do you like celebrity magazines?
No, not really.

When was the last time you were ill?
Last year some time.

Who owns you?
My cats.

One place you’d love to visit?
Scotland.

Did you skip school?
Yes.

Ever played an instrument?
Flute and a tiny bit of piano.

Favourite alcoholic drink?
I don’t really like alcohol, but sometimes I’ll go for a pear cider.

Do you follow fashion?
Nope.

What colour are your eyes? Do you like that colour?
Green and sometimes more grey than green. Yes!

What is the furthest you have travelled from your home? How far was it?
I grew up on the west coast of the USA and I moved to Finland. I have no idea how far that is, but it’s about half way around the world

What is the coldest temperatures you have experienced? Where were you?
I’ve survived -30C / -22F with wind chills in Finland.

What is the hottest temperatures you have experienced? Where were you?
Probably something like 106F / 41C when I was visiting relatives in California.

Do you like long train/car journeys?
Sometimes.

Have you ever considered writing a novel?
Nope.

Have you ever punched someone in the face?
Yes. I’ve trained/practiced and competed in Taekwon-do.

What is your sense of humour like?
A bit of this and that.

Are you a good person?
I like to think I am.

  1. I love that you're from Finland. I think it's so cool to get a bit of culture right on the computer through the blogging world! Fall already huh? Wow! I hope your neck feels better and your FET goes well! Good luck! Stopping by from ICLW! (#52)

  2. Um, that's cold. I'm already shivering. LOL! I grew up in So Cal and have felt those hot desert temps, too….I prefer the cold actually. But not -22F. No thanks. Happy ICLW!ICLW #102

  3. I can't imagine weather that cold! We still have another month and a half of "summer" then the rain will begin. But so will the holidays! I love fall, too. I miss the change of the leaves.

  4. When do you think you will do you next treatment? I really hope that this cycle will be the start of your pregnancy adventure. I know just a little of the heaviness of the wait.

  5. Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog NeverEndingStory . I am very new to all this and couldn't figure out how to reply/respond to you from your comment, so figured I would write here. It is really nice to know of others out there who totally get it! Good luck with your next FET!!

  6. It's just starting to really feel like summer here on the Canadian flatland (it rained for most of May-July). Cute little meme… I've never punched someone in the face, but I have punched someone on top of the head. Does that count? :)ICLW

  7. Hello! Happy ICLW! Wishing you warmth there in Finland from Sunny South Africa. Although it is still cool here, it is starting to get warmer. Hope your neck gets better. I have hazel (brown/green) eyes.

  8. Thanks for stopping by. I too love connecting with the world at large via our computers. When I first moved to Finland it helped me keep in contact with my family (and it still does). My neck is feeling much better today, thanks! Have a great rest of the ICLW!

  9. Thankfully it hasn't gotten too cold yet! I'm still not taking a jacket with me to work most days. Evenings are getting a bit chilly though. I used to visit So Cal during the summers and loved the heat! I don't mind cold (usually), so long as I can be dressed properly and it isn't a wet cold.Happy ICLW to you too and thanks for stopping by.

  10. It usually isn't so bad when it gets that cold, because it slowly creeps down and you get used to it in stages. Now, being thrown into the middle of it is another story! I've been there and froze! Now Oregon coast winters, I can leave those behind me any day. I definitely prefer the dry cold over the wet cold. Brr.

  11. My next treatment (FET) will hopefully be at the end of September. I'll know more when AF arrives and I call the clinic. Thanks for your kind words, I hope things change soon too.

  12. Blogger itself, doesn't allow replies like I'm doing here (with the disqus application). It only allows them to be in a line, but you can do that. But thank you for stopping by to comment!I'll be seeing you around.

  13. How cool is cool? I'm betting it is probably still warmer than here. Although, the last few days have been quite nice and this weekend is supposed to get up to 26-28C!
