#MicroblogMonday – hair

I got my hair cut today. The back was cut shorter and the rest tidied. The right side (left in the picture) wouldn’t curl under for anything, it likes to push forward. Silly hair.

As the hair dresser was putting tons of spray product on my hair, I started wondering what happened to Aqua Net hairspray? That stuff held your hair solidly in place and cost almost nothing (,99 cents, if I remember correctly) for a HUGE can.

  1. My hair does that flip-forward-on-one-side thing, too. Curls under one one side, and up on the other. I always look swoopy.

And Aqua Net was bulletproof. And it seemed like we used the same can my mom used when she was a teenager. Lasted forever. Hah!

  2. Looking good, lady! 🙂
I suspect most women have the same problem with hair. Mine is poker straight, but it still pushes left on either side, which makes me look like perpetually standing in a draft blowing from my left. What I both love and hate is the new hairs, because yay, new hairs! and boo, hallo and skimpy fringe.

  3. I think Aquanet is still around? I don’t know. It’s been many years since I’ve used hair spray. But oh how I used hair spray in middle school.

    Your new haircut is cute!

  4. Cute cut! My hair couldn’t handle that – it is wavy, and always goes directions I don’t want it too. So I’ve cut it really short, and so far it is behaving!

  5. I don’t know what your hair looked like before, but it’s super cute in the photo!

I think a lot of aerosol products got banned back in the day (something about CFCs and big hair causing a hole in the ozone layer), so I think AquaNet had to switch to having a spray pump (or whatever those are called. It’s been so long since I’ve had to know words related to hairspray.)
